Local monitoring information and analysis center

Local monitoring of the environment is one of the kinds of monitoring activities of the national system for environmental monitoring. It is carried out for the sake of observing the environment in an area where economic activities or other activities, which may have a harmful effect on the environment, are pursued. Local monitoring data allows evaluating the effect that sources of harmful impact may have on the environment.

Local monitoring objects are: emissions, waste and surface water, groundwater and land.
Local monitoring observation objects
Local monitoring of the environment is performed by users of natural resources out of their own expense.
At present 405 users of natural resources perform local monitoring of the environment at 3,108 observation points in line with Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry resolution No.5 of 11 January 2017 (as specified by Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry resolution No.18 of 10 July 2018).
The list of legal persons, which perform local monitoring, is stipulated by Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry resolution No.5 of 11 January 2017 (as specified by Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry resolution No.18 of 10 July 2018).
The local monitoring information and analysis center operates at premises of the state institution National Center for Analytical Monitoring in the Area of Environmental Protection.
The main functions of the local monitoring information and analysis center include:
- collection, storage, processing and analysis of data obtained as a result of local monitoring;
- preparation of analytical ecological information in the wake of local monitoring.
The local monitoring information and analysis center uses local monitoring data to set up and run a local monitoring database using an automated software complex.
