Procedural framework for taking measurements

In line with Ecological Norms and Rules (EcoNiP) 17.01.06-001-2017 approved by Belarusian Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry resolution No.5-T of 18 July 2017 in the course of control in the area of environmental protection, including analytical (lab) control and monitoring of the environment, it is necessary to use measurement procedures, which have passed the metrological confirmation procedure, including measurement procedures specified by technical laws and regulations (TNPA for short) as well as measurement procedures specified by the registry of technical laws and regulations and measurement procedures in the area of environmental protection.

In line with the regulation on registering measurement procedures, state standards of the Republic of Belarus, and interstate standards used to take measurements in the area of environmental protection approved by the Belarusian Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry’s order No.387-OD of 8 November 2010 the National Center for Analytical Monitoring in the Area of Environmental Protection can:

add technical laws and regulations and measurement procedures to the registry of technical laws and regulations and measurement procedures in the area of environmental protection;
issue booked copies of registered measurement procedures.

The National Center for Analytical Monitoring in the Area of Environmental Protection takes an active part in updating the procedural framework in the area of environmental protection. In 2010-2018 considerable work was done to bring the procedural framework into compliance with requirements of the national legislation and harmonize it with the modern procedural framework: ten standards were worked out as well as six measurement procedures, and three technical codes of common practice.
